Our History

Established in 2010

The Grindrod Family Centenary Trust (GFCT) was established in 2010 by the broader family to commemorate the 1910 founding, in Durban, of business interests by Captain John Grindrod.

Between 2014 and 2024, the GFCT supported organisations that worked in early childhood education (ECD) and teacher training, both in-service and pre-service.

Recently, the GFCT trustees agreed a new strategy that focuses on early childhood development with a climate lens.
